Update on School Happenings

Peyton played basket ball for her school on the JJV team! Typically it is a team made up of 3rd and 4th graders but since they did not have enough players they opened it up to 2nd grade too. It was a very interesting season between traveling to other schools, snow storms, and never having played before. In the end it ended up being a great season and Peyton learned a lot. Unbelievably I did not take my camera to all the games. Try wrangling a 1 1/2 year old to stay in the bleachers with you and not run out on the court AND take pictures LOL.

I previously posted pics of Peyton's Crazy Hair day at school but we recently found out that she actually made it in the NEWSPAPER! The crazy Californians are teaching them all kinds of new things out here :OP

Hey Dad...Let's go shake our bootys!

Jason and Peyton attended their first Father Daughter dance, I don't know which one was more excited! Jason was such a sport in allowing me to purchase a fuchsia polo for him to wear so that he would match Peyton...she thought he would never go for it. Sure, I could have got him a black one; but where's the fun in that?

Getting Peyton ready before her Daddy got home was such a delight. She was all a glow and full of giggles. When he walked in the door and saw how adorable she looked his eyes twinkled with delight as he gave her a smile of approval.

He quickly got ready and just before heading out the door to dinner he presented her with...

We snapped a few pictures and sent them on their way...

Sorry Addie but you'll have to wait a few years before you may join them :O(

They went to dinner...

and then She busted her moves...

They came home late and with tired grins on their faces. Peyton slept until 10am the next morning!

Peyton's First Pennance and Jesus Day Retreat

This is a big year for Peyton as she just made her First Confession on Feb. 23rd (her Papa Pete birthday) and will be making her First Communion on her birthday; May 2nd. Here is a quick snapshot of her putting her lamb on the banner after she made her First Confession and some pics from the Jesus Day Retreat they had in preparation for First Communion.

Eagerly waiting to put her lamb up on the banner...

Yay, I did it :O).

Snow snow and more snow

First let me share with you our first little snow storm in December 09...

Now our BIG snow storm February 5th and 6th 2010. Here is what the Post Gazette had to say about it...

The weekend's relentless, paralyzing snowstorm ended about noon Saturday and entered the record books as the fourth worst in the region's history, but its effects will linger for some time.

With an official accumulation of 21.1 inches at Pittsburgh International Airport, but higher in some areas, the storm that pummeled the mid-Atlantic states for nearly 24 hours continued to bedevil the region overnight and into today as state, county and municipal emergency declarations remained in effect.

Many roads remained slick and dangerous, and about 130,000 customers in southwestern Pennsylvania remained without electricity after heavy, moisture-laden snow felled trees and limbs, snapping electrical wires.

That situation was exacerbated by an overnight low expected to dip to 7 degrees. Nowhere in the foreseeable future is the temperature expected to rise above freezing, meaning the nearly 2 feet of snow won't be melting anytime soon.

PS. we live 10 minutes from the airport if that gives you any idea of how many inches we got.

Peyton and I had fun walking down the street in snow up to our knees to check things out!

Since we are on the subject of snow I thought I would post some of our sledding pictures too...

By the way, I have ONE fall picture to share. Why is that? It was certainly beautiful, but I blinked and I missed it! Seriously, the trees turned to glourious shades of red, orange, and yellow but by the time I got my camera out they were already dead and shedding :O(. Next year I will know to stay on top of it LOL.
