Silly little girls

OK, I really should be working on my P&P prints that are due but I had so much fun playing with the girls the other night while we tried to take a picture for our Christmas cards I had to share. We did go to a professional by the way, to get their pictures done that is; it ended up being pretty pricey $9 for EACH 4x6!!! She did take a ton of photos and a few of them were quite irresistible but darn it we are in a recession! Anywho, I picked my photos for the card then realized that it will take two weeks to get them...uh, that would be mid December. So I panicked a little and whipped out my trusty (not fancy) digital camera. I do have a fancy camera but it is the old fashioned 35mm kind...who uses those anymore??? Actually, I think I still have a roll of film in there that is not completed from when Addison was born. So, I shot a whole bunch of...nothing really. Let's face it; I am not photographer although I LOVE to take pictures. I have no studio in my home, just baby blankets (and mini blinds)...lol. I am also very impatient and have to have everything NOW which is why I took the pictures at night and did not wait until the next day when the lighting would have been better. Did I mention how impatient I am? Seriously bad idea, I was so coo coo about this I did not even change Peyton out of her uniform shirt or fix her hair. I have mini blinds for a backdrop! What the heck was I thinking? Thank goodness my ability to reason and not send out tacky Christmas cards overpowered my impatientness. Needless to say I ended up ordering some Christmas cards through the photographer. Since they cost a small fortune I am limited, sorry guys; they will only go to immediate family this year :O(. BUT...I will scan it and post it here when it arrives...ta da! By the way...I did not realize how stinkin hard it is to get your 6 year old to focus and smile pretty. I thought the work would be with the baby, I was wrong. Peyton is going through the funky smile stage right now as most kids her age are I suspect.

SISTERS

Here's our Peanut...

Addie was having a blast...Peyton not so much. Although she was cracking up it really did hurt. I snapped the picture just as she was saying "Ouoooch". Get her Addie...lol

After we messed around for a while it was time for Peyton to get back to her homework. What a good girl!

OK, so this picture does not belong here as I did not take it with the others. But it is a really cute picture of Peyton listening to the iPod so I had to throw it in...after all it was a contender for the homemade Christmas card.

This IS the life...

Sitting in a big comfy chair holding Addison while she sleeps in one arm and giggling with Peyton curled up in the other. This is the stuff memories are made of. Daddy was there too...taking the picture.

Addison's Laugh

This is terrible lighting and terrible videography (or could it be the camera man?)... however; it is a wonderful video of Addison talking and laughing so enjoy!
Make sure you PAUSE the MUSIC on the right side of my page before you click play on this video.

Halloween

Now that it's almost Thanksgiving I thought I should hurry up post the girls Halloween pictures! I have waited a long time to be able to do the "theme" idea as so many families do with their children and this year I finally got to. Peyton as you can see was Alice and Addison was the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland. Peyton made a great Alice don't you think? I wanted so badly to go as the Queen of Hearts but the costume was just too expensive to justify buying it. I started watching eBay auctions back in August! The cheapest I saw it go for was about $100...I need to learn how to sew. The girls looked adorable and that's what really matters. Peyton's costume was purchased on eBay with the shoes for a great deal and I made her headband/bow. Addie's costume was a pair of pj's my sister Judi bought her. I made a tail by twisting together two shades of pink boa, stitched it onto the bottom of her jammies and made ears out of felt and tacked them onto a beanie for her.

I ended up having my eyes done up at Downtown Disney the night before and slept on my back. Yes...I really did! They did the main painting and I added the glitter, eyeliner, and mascara the next morning. We had a carnival at Peyton's school so I threw on my witches hat, cape, and shoes...the ones with the pointy toes and big buckle on them. The kids loved my "costume", my friend Michelle asked me why I wasn't wearing a costume...ha ha ha.

We had a great time at our friends house that night and while the kids were playing this is what they did to each other...

Peyton is in there somewhere!

By the end of the evening Addie was one tired little kitty...

And in case you are wondering about Jason...he did not participate in the festivities of dressing up BUT he did let the kids wrap him up like a Mummy at our nephew Aiden's Halloween party the week before!

Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch the week before Halloween, for Addison it was a first. It was hotter that you know what...ridiculously hot, seriously! We met up with some awesome friends out in Temecula at Peltzer Farms. None of us had gone there before but I heard good things about it. When we first arrived Jason said, "We drove all the way out here for this?" I have to admit I was secretly thinking the same thing. Turns out it was more fun than it looked...thank goodness because the heat was a killer. They don't have the bouncers and slides like some of the other patches but they did have ponies, a cool corn maze, a rinky dink train with 2 cars, petting zoo, face painting, and pig races! Addison was a little cranky probably because of the heat but she was a trooper and even took a little nap. Peyton had a blast with her friends as did Jason and I. We picked out two cute pumpkins and carved them two days later. They were mushy and moldy by Halloween...again thanks to the heat! Can you tell I am over this stinkin' H-E-A-T! Afterwards we all met up again at Pat & Oscars for a nice lunch in the air condition...AHhhhhh. Overall it was a very nice day (smile). Check out the pictures below...
